I am a historian of American Religious History specializing in post-Joseph Smith, Jr. Mormonism.  I am particularly interested in grief and trauma as a mechanism in religious conversion and life, when and why majority groups weaponize real and perceived heterodox (religious or social) beliefs against minority religious groups, and family structure as state discipline and religious resistance.
